Nate and I headed to Santa Barbara for a few days for a little R and R before this babe gets here. Is it bad that I get a little sentimental about our last few months together as just the two of us? It has been just “us” for about five years now. We have grown so much as a couple and I know this sweet baby will only aid that growth. I am so happy we got to go away together as just the two of us for a few days. Nate used to go to Santa Barbara all the time growing up but it was my first time. We rented a little b and b for the weekend. The weekend consisted of picnics on the beach, hunts for sand dollars, rose gardens, lots of baby name talk, pinkberry, buying baby beanies, mancala (our little place had a set and we couldn’t stop playing), 2 emergency pee stops, the movie About Time (go see it if you haven’t yet), the dutch town of Solvang, and lots of birth prep talk. Nate has been totally on board with everything I have wanted to for the birth of our child. He has been so interested and supportive. I can’t wait to see him in action. He will be such a good birth partner. I feel so lucky to have someone to share all this with.
